With the LokSound 5 Nano DCC, ESU has succeeded in developing a much smaller LokSound decoder!
The LokSound 5 Nano DCC with E24 interface has a size of 19.6mm x 8.5mm x 3.2mm.
The LokSound 5 Nano DCC with single strands has a size of 19.6mm x 8.5mm x 5.3mm.
The LokSound 5 Nano DCC with PluX16 interface has a size of 21mm x 11mm x 6mm.
The LokSound 5 Nano DCC with Next18 interface has a size of 15mm x 9.5mm x 3.5mm.
Thus, it should really be used in all vehicles of nominal sizes N and TT. The LokSound 5 Nano DCC decoder is a pure DCC decoder and comes with an 11 x 15 mm large “sugar cube” speaker and sound capsule kit.
Operating modes
The LokSound 5 Nano is a “purebred” DCC decoder. 14 to 128 driving levels are as self-evident as 2- and 4-digit addresses. It can trigger up to 32 functions. Thanks to Rail-ComPlus®, the decoders register fully automatically at a suitable digital control panel.
It masters all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom®, the CV values can be read out on the main track with suitable control units. For centrals that can only program the CVs of 1-255 exist auxiliary registers.
The LokSound 5 Nano DCC decoder recognizes the Märklin® braking distances as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake blocks or with direct voltage is also possible. In addition, it also stops at a Selectrix® brake diode. An ABC shuttle train control allows automatic commuting between two stations. The LokSound 5 Nano DCC can be used on analog DC tracks.
The decoder switches between operating modes fully automatically “on-the-fly”. Usually nothing needs to be set.
Sound
The LokSound 5 Nano DCC decoder can play up to 12 channels simultaneously. Each channel can be resolved with up to 16 bit / 31250 kHz and offers hi-fi quality on your system. There is practically no difference to the original anymore. A Class-D audio power amplifier with up to 3W output power controls the speakers, which may have between 4 ohms and 32 ohms impedances. A 128 Mbit sound memory provides sufficient capacity. All individual sounds can be individually adjusted in volume. The super flexible sound engine without a rigid schedule allows the model-perfect simulation of all conceivable rail vehicles.
Functions
Despite its small size, the LokSound 5 Nano DCC 6 has amplified function outputs as well as a logic level output as a soldering pad. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted separately. The decoder masters the automatic pressing on and off during uncoupling for ROCO®, Krois® and Märklin Telex® couplings.
Engine control
The motor control of the LokSound 5 Nano DCC has a variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz, which ensures super quiet operation, especially with bell anchor motors – the typical “humming” is a thing of the past. The load control can also be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 HPs. The unique “Autotune” function allows the automatic measurement of the decoder to the motor. The LokSound 5 Nano DCC decoder delivers up to 0.75A motor current.
Protection
Of course, the outputs are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
