New for 2021: A printed version of the “Esso” articulated tank wagon, as operated by FS in the livery of Era V. The first tank wagons with a so-called “articulated tank” were built in the early 1990s. The tanks were designed so that the two halves tilt towards the center by 3° each. This allows the contents of the tank, primarily petroleum products, to drain almost completely without any additional aids. Because these lightweight steel vehicles are suitable for higher speeds, they were soon acquired by other companies throughout Europe. These wagons can be found as P (private) wagons in the fleets of all European railway companies.
