“Sound-ready” models have a bridge plug for use on your analog system, a loudspeaker and a buffer capacitor. Therefore,
subsequent digitization can be carried out independently. You can find an instructional video on the ROCO YouTube channel.
ROCO Customer Service and your specialist dealer will also support you with questions and installation. If you want to drive digitally without sound, you can get started after installing a cheaper "driving decoder without sound". Sound fans have the opportunity to order the corresponding decoder from their specialist dealer for a price advantage of €25 on the current price.
This gives you the greatest possible flexibility in the technical design of your models: you can enjoy the analogue driving fun straight away and still have the choice as to the extent to which you would like to digitize your model later.
To renew the CSD fleet, Skoda developed the 2nd generation of universal electric locomotives from the second half of the 1970s. This is where the S 499.2 series comes from. The letter “S” stands for alternating current. The two prototype locomotives were delivered in 1984 and thoroughly tested. With an hourly output of 3,060 kW, a top speed of 120 km/h is achieved. The series delivery of ten locomotives took place in 1988 with the new series designation 263. The machines are used in express and freight train traffic.
