A symbol of comfort and modernity

Ordered by SNCF from 1950 onwards, the Rames à Grand Parcours (RGP) marked a major step forward in long-distance passenger services. Powered by MGO engines, these trainsets—built by De Dietrich for the driving units and Brissonneau & Lotz for the trailers—were designed to meet the demands of speed and comfort on long-distance routes.

Structurally derived from the RGP 2 × 2700 and mechanically from the X 2800, the RGP I units were produced in two main versions:

• A green/cream livery for domestic services
• A carmine red/cream livery reserved for the prestigious Trans Europ Express (TEE), dedicated to first-class international services

Technical features of the Jouef models:​​​​​​​

• Features front and rear lights that alternate automatically with the direction, with the added flexibility of being independently switchable when operating in digital mode
• A high level of realism with separately controllable lighting for the driver’s cab, the passenger areas, and even the instrument panel
• Every model respects the unique historical nuances, with specific running numbers and service liveries tailored to the era
• For an out-of-the-box lifelike appearance, the model comes equipped with a pre-installed engineer figure in the cab
• The dedicated engine compartment features a detailed visual reproduction of the actual motor assembly
• A die-cast metal chassis for superior weight and stability
• Powered by a 5-pole motor with a flywheel
• Electrical pickup is managed across all 8 wheels of the motor unit
• A standard 21-pin (MTC) interface according to NEM 660 standards
• NEM 362 coupler pockets and close-coupling kinematics at the rear of the power unit and both ends of the driving trailer
